House Hunting

Things are still busy around here. The good news.....A life long friend is about to move to my area. The bad news........helping her find the perfect house. We have been friends for 45 years(wish I could say we met at birth, but that would be a lie). Actually we were about 13. As happens to most of us we grew up and found ourselves living states apart, but we always remained close in our friendship. We always talked about how we wished we lived close to each other so we could do things and go places and rock our babies together more often. But when we were young it wasn't in the cards. Later on she did move closer, just 3 hours away, but still not close enough to run over for coffee. So hopefully if everything works out we will be able to spend more days doing what we missed through the rocking(babies)years. The only difference now is we will be rocking grandbabies. Got to go now, that perfect house is waiting just around the bend.

Hello!!!

Is everyone out there as busy as me? Seems like no one has time to blog anymore including me. That's the downfall of summer, too many chores.I just wanted to take a minute to say hello and I'm still here. If you drop by,leave me a comment and let me know how things are going and how you spend your summer days. I always wondered why they are known as "the lazy days of summer",it should be "the lazy days of winter". Soon(I hope)I will have time to stop and smell the roses.

A Good Week

Hi all,It's been busy around here so I have not had time to post in a while. It's spring you know and the "to do" list grows larger each day. The time is going so fast, It will be fall before I get ready for summer, but quite a bit has been accomplished this week. Still there is much to do.
All in all, this was a great week for me,I have had company everyday. Some might say "OMG",but when you live alone, that is a blessing. Every single day for the last 10 days, this felt like home again. I had old friends from out of town come and stay, grandchildren came, children came by,also an occasional visitor would drop in or call. Oh, how I love a full house.

A Wise Old Owl

Something dawned on me this morning just when I least expected it,(for all the smart butts,no it wasn't the sun).It was the fact that after all these years of making every mistake in the book,I can finally see where there might be a purpose for that.
For years now it seems I have spent a lot of time solving other peoples problems. Some have asked me why I continue to listen to this on a daily basis from so many different people. They asked because, they know I take everyone's problem to heart.I am a known worry wart who wants to fix everything for everyone. Isn't that suppose to be a male trait? Must have been all the estratest I took when I was younger.
The "something" that dawned on me this morning was that I love giving advice to people that are going through things that I have already been through. Hoping to make their journey a lttle smoother than mine. Weather they take that advice or not is up to them, but just knowing they think enough of me to ask my advice makes me feel like a wise old owl.
So bring it on, I'm pumped, I earned these gray hairs(under my haircolor),ask me anything, anything at all,I don't give a hoot.

Shih Tzu Mama

I am the mama of 2 shih tzus which I consider my furry children. They were both rescue babies and came to me at a time I needed them most. People say I spoil them rotten,I tell them that is the reason I have them. I have also been asked if I plan on spending the rest of my life single? Yes is my standard answer, and of course they want to know why I would prefer my furry children to a man. Here are some of the reasons why.
1.My dogs are always happy to see me.
2.Dogs are better protectors than men.
3.Dogs can be taught the word no.
4.Dogs don't take a handful of pills when their sick to keep from going to the vet.
5.Dogs can always find their way back home after a night on the town.
6.A dog will fetch the morning paper.
7.A dog wants to be near you.
8.You can ask the vet to snip him even if he objects.
9.Dogs dig in the garden sometimes.
10.You can leave a dog alone and not worry about what it will break.
11.Dogs whine less.
12.Dogs are not so careless about leaving puddles on the bathroom floor.
13.A dog is a faithful companion.
14.You can train a dog not to lie on the bed,a man always lies in the bed.
15.Most dogs are really good with children.
16.Dogs are happy just to snuggle.
17.Having a dog around can actually relieve stress.
18.A dog is for life.
