This is Birthday week around here. Today is my oldest Son's birthday,he will turn 42 year's old. Tomorrow is his Daughter/my Granddaughter's birthday. How in the world is that possible when in my minds eye this is who I see when I look at him?




But in reality,this is what I see. My Granddaughter got her first car, she's so happy. Aren't memories the best? Old and new. Where DO the years go? Happy Birthday to two of the loves of my life!!

Sharing My Yesterday

I know I have been a little lazy about posting lately but in the mist of trying to get caught up on my work around here I hurt my back last week. But I am feeling better,can't keep a good girl down. It was so beautiful yesterday so my BFF and her granddaughter and I decided to go for a little ride thru Desoto State Park. Of course I had to stop at my favorite chapel(I have posted about this place in an earlier post)and on to the falls after that. Thought I would share a few of the pictures with you all(you may click to inlarge). After all the sleepless nights I have had in the last week with my back pain I sure did sleep good last night. Hope you all are enjoying this Spring weather and have a great day.

I hope you all have a great Easter! Now I'm really going to show my age,my Mama use to sing this song at Easter time and I always loved it. I lost her several years ago but when I hear this song she is right with me. So this is for you and me Mama,Happy Easter.

Taking Time to say Hello and a Bailee update!

Like you all I have been very busy trying to get ready for Spring,maybe I can get back to my favorite pastime(blogging)soon. I plan on posting some pix next week of some of the things I have been doing around here. I still haven't gotten to the yard work yet,it takes awhile to get things done when your the only one to do it and work too(all you single ladies know what I'm talking about). But until then I thought I would update you all on my Great-Granddaughter's progress. If you have been with me awhile you will remember Miss Bailee Grace was born in September and suffers from albonism and with that condition comes the possibility that she also could be blind. The Doctors said "only time will tell how her eye sight is". At the moment she is considered legally blind and it is very hard for her to focus her eyes but she can see some things within 12 to 18 inches. One thing is for sure,you can tell when she does finally focus in on you because then we get a big beautiful smile. Something like this.................

Finally, An Explanation!

Assault Charges

At my recent assault trial, I offered a plea of "Guilty, with an explanation. " The judge asked me what my explanation was, so I told my story.

"Your Honor," I said, "I had a mammogram appointment, which I actually kept and I was met with: 'Hi! I'm Belinda!' This perky clipboard carrier smiled from ear to ear, tilted her head to one side and crooned, 'All I need you to do is step into this room right here, strip to the waist, then slip on this gown. Everything clear?' I'm thinking, 'Belinda, try decaf. This ain't rocket science.' Belinda skipped away to prepare the chamber of horrors.

With the right side finished, Belinda flipped me (literally) to the left and said, 'Hmmmm. Can you stand on your tippy toes and lean in a tad so we can get everything?' 'Fine', I answered. I was freezing, bruised, and out of air, so why not use the remaining circulation in my legs and neck and finish me off? My body was in a holding pattern that defied gravity (with my other breast wedged between those two 4 inch pieces of square glass) when we heard, then felt a zap!

Complete darkness and the power went off! 'Oh, maintenance is working. Bet they hit a snag.' Belinda said, and headed for the door. 'Excuse me! You're not leaving me in this vise alone are you?' I shouted. Belinda kept going and said, 'Oh, you fussy puppy...the door's wide open so you'll have the emergency hall lights. I'll be right back.'

Before I could shout 'NOOOO!' she disappeared. And that's exactly how Bubba and Earl, maintenance men extraordinaire, found me ... half-naked with part of me dangling from the Jaws of Life, and the other part smashed between glass! After exchanging a polite 'Hi, how's it going' type greeting, Bubba (or possibly Earl) asked, to my utter disbelief, if I knew the power was off. Trying to disguise my hysteria, I replied with as much calmness as possible 'Uh, yes, yes I did thanks.' 'You bet, take care’ Bubba replied and waved good-bye as though I'd been standing in the line at the grocery store.



Two hours later, Belinda breezes in wearing a sheepish grin. Making no attempt to suppress her amusement, she said, 'Oh I am sooo sorry!' The power came back on and I totally forgot about you! And silly me, I went to lunch. Are we upset?'

And that, Your Honor, is exactly how her head ended up between the clamps...."

The judge said 'Case Dismissed!!'
