Praying for a Miracle!!

If you have been reading my blog, you will remember I became a Great-Grandmother on Sept.23,2009 to a beautiful baby girl named Bailee Grace. We were told the day she was born that she had Albinism. What we were not told was what type, there are 10 levels with type 1 being the most severe. After a trip to the genetics Doctor, the results finally came back. Our sweet little angel is type 1. She will never be able to play in the sunshine. She will always have to wear hats and dark glasses. The eye Doctor said we will just have to wait to see about her vision,at best she will only be able to see 12 to 18 inches away. I pray by some miracle that this little sweetheart can see better than that. So,one day at a time and hope for the best is all we can do. There is one thing for sure, she is loved very very much. Isn't she a beauty.......of course I think so!

  1. She is absolutely adorable. What a lucky little girl to be so loved and adored! My hope for her is that with medicine advancing as quickly as it is, she will live a very happy and normal life with 20/20 vision!

  3. She is precious! Thankfully, doctors aren't God and don't really know what miracles can happen. I'm hoping and praying that everything will work out for her.

  4. She is as beautiful as an angel!! Doctors do not determine how things will work out, so, yes, i do believe in God and in miracles.

  5. Silver is right. Doctors give educated guesses at best and typically give the bleakest picture first.

A family friend has a daughter in college that is dating a boy with albinism ( I have no idea what level ) but he is a great guy and living a very normal college kid life.

  6. She's just beautiful, and I know you and the rest of the family will see that she has as normal a life as possible under these special circumstances. There will no doubt be many frustrations, heartaches, and challenges, but ... well, one does what one has to do to meet and conquer them. I hope you'll keep us updated in how her parents handle this - I saw something on tv about it sometime this last year, maybe on Oprah (or even House!). Or maybe Extreme Makeover Home Edition? The parents had the inside of the house decked out like a school playground, or something like that. And went to the playgrounds and such at night.

I still can't get over you being a great-grandmother at your age!

  7. She's a beautiful baby who will grow into a beautiful girl and a beautiful woman, and have beautiful babies of her own - outside and inside beauty. That is my prayer.
All the best for Bailee Grace and all of you that love her so dearly.

By the way, what do your grands call you? :)

  11. Doctors do not know everything. They have to tell you the worst. It in the genes. Miracles happen. God has His hand on Bailee Grace.
