Michael Jackson......Dead at 50

Here I go again.....third post today. Michael Jackson,so so sad,I have always enjoyed his music and loved to watch him dance. Regardless of all the bad publicity I Still loved watching his performances,he was a talented entertainer. He will also be missed.

Farrah Fawcett....Dead at 62

I just heard about Farrah and had to comment. It's so sad and she fought so hard. Of course like most she wasn't a personal friend but in a way it seemed she was. She brought me endless hours of entertainment,I loved her made for t.v movies the most. The last few years of her life were hard in many ways. How could I have not shared a few of my memories of her since my sons shared a bedroom with her for quite awhile(remember the famous poster)and she greeted me every morning when I went in to straighten up their room? Not to mention the fact that I wore her hairstyle for many years, heck,I think I still wear it on occasion. I wanted to say "Farrah you will be missed by many".

Just Thinking!

Ageing: eventually you will reach a point when you stop lying about your age and start bragging about it.
The easiest way to find something that's lost around the house is to buy a replacement.
If at first you don't succeed, shouldn't you try doing it like your wife told you?
A penny saved is a government oversight.
The real art of conversation is not only to say the right thing at the right time, but also to leave unsaid the wrong thing at the tempting moment.
He who hesitates is almost certainly right.
Did you ever notice? The Roman Numerals for forty (40) are 'XL'.
If you can smile when things go wrong, you have someone in mind to blame.
The sole purpose of a child's middle name is so he can tell when he's really in trouble.
There's always a lot to be thankful for if you take time to look for it. For example I am sitting here thinking how nice it is that wrinkles don't hurt..
The older we get, the fewer things seem worth waiting in line for.
Long ago when men cursed and beat the ground with sticks, it was called witchcraft. Today, it's called golf. Just Saying!

My view of June Weddings and how the gown should really look.

A Child's View of Marriage
When my daughter was about four years old, she still had a hard time grasping the concept of marriage. So, I got out our wedding album, thinking visual images would help, and explained the entire service to her.

Once finished, I asked if she had any questions, and she replied, "Oh. I see. Is that when Mommy came to work for us, Daddy?"

Sorry I'm such a pessimist but I was a June Bride from the 60's and being a wife then was very different than today.........this was very true back then.

Listen up children!

Do you realize that the only time in our lives when we like to get old is when we're kids? If you're less than ten years old, you're so excited about aging that you think in fractions. "How old are you?" "I'm four and a half." You're never 36-and-a-half ...you're four-and-a-half going on 5.
You get into your teens; now they can't hold you back. You jump to the next number. "How old are you?" "I'm gonna be 16." You could be 12, but you're gonna be 16. Eventually.
Then the great day of your life; you become 21. Even the words sound like a ceremony. You BECOME 21....Yes!!
Then you turn 30. What happened there? Makes you sound like bad milk. He TURNED; we had to throw him out. What's wrong? What changed? You BECOME 21; you TURN 30.
Then you're PUSHING 40....stay over there.
You REACH 50.
You BECOME 21; you TURN 30; You're PUSHING 40; you REACH 50; then you MAKE IT to 60. By then you've built up so much speed, you HIT 70. After that, it's a day by day thing. You HIT Wednesday...You get into your 80's; you HIT lunch, you HIT 4:30.
My Grandmother won't even buy green bananas. "Well, it's an investment, you know, and maybe a bad one." And it doesn't end there....Into the 90's, you start going backwards. "I was JUST 92." Then a strange thing happens; if you make it over 100, you become a little kid again. "I'm 100 and a half."

Heat wave!!!

We're having a heat wave........A tropical heat wave! Ever hear that tune? There is just one problem,I'm not in the tropics,(boo hoo)if I were I would now be at the swim up bar in the pool. When I went to Jamaica that's where I stayed in the heat of the day and that's saying a lot for someone that can't swim. Ok,back to reality, the heat index is 105 today, did I mention that I'm not much of a fan of summer? I love any season that is not summer. Alaska is sounding real good about now. I'm glad I finished mowing the lawn yesterday, that's one thing I did right this week. I've decided I going to put up black and tan checked curtains in my kitchen and dining room, the problem now is I can't find what I'm looking for. I could always make some but material has gotten so expensive it would cost me twice as much to make them. Anyone know of a good place to buy country curtains? Well,I'm off to wax the floors at least it's cool in the house.

Happy birthday!!!

June 16th is my niece's birthday and I hope it's the best for her. I haven't gotten to see her in a very long time. I was 11 years old when she was born and I doubt she has any idea how much I loved her. As a young girl I remember her taking up most of the space in my diary, hating the days I didn't get to see her. I'm not sure at that time she ever felt like a niece, more like a little sister or maybe even my own baby at times. Sure there were times as she got older I could have pinch her nose off but regardless of the miles that are between us,in my heart there will always be a bond between us time will not break. She is a grown woman now that has made many proud and I am no exception. I can still see that little curly haired girl with the pigtails no matter how many birthday's she has. Love you and miss you.

Sweet Song

Is it just me or are the birds more plentiful this year? There has always been a lot of animals in my yard, the rabbits and chipmunks own the place. There is even an occasional skunk dropping by(I'll save the infamous skunk story for later)and it's getting very scary to walk the dogs at night since the coyotes have over populated. Boy,this is beginning to sound like I live in the wilderness, not true(anymore)just a typical rural area.Ok,back to the birds, their singing is so beautiful this year, maybe, just maybe there is magic in the air. I added their song to my blog so you could hear what I hear when I go outside, isn't it peaceful?

House Hunting

Things are still busy around here. The good news.....A life long friend is about to move to my area. The bad news........helping her find the perfect house. We have been friends for 45 years(wish I could say we met at birth, but that would be a lie). Actually we were about 13. As happens to most of us we grew up and found ourselves living states apart, but we always remained close in our friendship. We always talked about how we wished we lived close to each other so we could do things and go places and rock our babies together more often. But when we were young it wasn't in the cards. Later on she did move closer, just 3 hours away, but still not close enough to run over for coffee. So hopefully if everything works out we will be able to spend more days doing what we missed through the rocking(babies)years. The only difference now is we will be rocking grandbabies. Got to go now, that perfect house is waiting just around the bend.

Hello!!!

Is everyone out there as busy as me? Seems like no one has time to blog anymore including me. That's the downfall of summer, too many chores.I just wanted to take a minute to say hello and I'm still here. If you drop by,leave me a comment and let me know how things are going and how you spend your summer days. I always wondered why they are known as "the lazy days of summer",it should be "the lazy days of winter". Soon(I hope)I will have time to stop and smell the roses.

A Good Week

Hi all,It's been busy around here so I have not had time to post in a while. It's spring you know and the "to do" list grows larger each day. The time is going so fast, It will be fall before I get ready for summer, but quite a bit has been accomplished this week. Still there is much to do.

All in all, this was a great week for me,I have had company everyday. Some might say "OMG",but when you live alone, that is a blessing. Every single day for the last 10 days, this felt like home again. I had old friends from out of town come and stay, grandchildren came, children came by,also an occasional visitor would drop in or call. Oh, how I love a full house.
