An Award for Me and An Award for You!
I received this award from Glenn over at Differences with the Same Likeness. You should visit his blog if you would like a good read. He writes stories that can and will take you back to a more simple time and place, you won't be sorry that you visited. Thank you Glenn. Now I must share with you all, things that make me happy.
1.Receiving awards just for doing what I enjoy so much(blogging).
2.Blogging and meeting fellow bloggers, you are the best.
3.The warmth of the sun thru my windshied on a cool day.
4.Music,I can't imagine a world without it.
5.A hot shower and curling up in bed at night with a good read.
6.Max and Maggie(my 2 Shih-tzu's).
7.Going junking(shopping at thrift stores).
8.My friends who have been closer than most relatives.
9.A roof over my head and money to pay my bills.
10.And of course my family. I could go on and on about my family, they are the lights of my life. Without them there would be no happiness, they are my pride,my strength and my reason for being.
Well, there you have it,some of the things that make me happy. Now I am suppose to pass this award on to deserving bloggers but I can't pick certain ones because most of my reads have already gotten this award. So I am passing this on to all my followers who have not gotten this award or anyone who would like a second one. Please grab it and thank you so much for the many hours of pleasure that your blogs and your friendship have given me.

Dancing in Heaven
Yesterday(the 14th)would have been my parents 60th Wedding Anniversary. All tho they are no longer on this earth,I know in my heart they are celebrating. Sure, they had their up's and down's like everyone does but one thing I know for sure. They loved each other. I was very attached to my parent's,more than most and when I lost them a part of me died with them. They loved to dance and I'm sure they are dancing today. Happy Anniversary Mama and Daddy. I will dance with you again someday.

A Quick Question!
I'm still fairly new to blogging so I was wondering if anyone else has this happening. I have e-mail alerts set so I know if anyone comments on an older post. For the last week or so I have been getting anonymous comments, always on older post never on the most recent. The odd thing is that this person sounds like Simon Cowell, judging my blog. Then at other times it is just a bunch of jibberish. Has this happened to any of you? If so,what or who is it?

Getting older and Memory Loss
This is how it develops:
I decide to water my garden.
As I turn on the hose in the driveway, I look over at my car and decide my car needs washing.
As I start toward the garage, I notice that there is mail on the porch table that I brought up from the mailbox earlier.
I decide to go through the mail before I wash the car.
I lay my car keys down on the table, put the junk mail in the garbage can under the table, and notice that the can is full. So, I decide to put the bills back on the table and take out the garbage first.
But then I think, since I'm going to be near the mailbox, when I take out the garbage anyway, I may as well pay the bills first. I take my checkbook off the table, and see that there is only 1 check left. My extra checks are in my desk in the study, so I go inside the house to my desk where I find the can of Coke that I had been drinking.
I'm going to look for my checks, but first I need to push the Coke aside so that I don't accidentally knock it over. I see that the Coke is getting warm, and I decide I should put it in the refrigerator to keep it cold. As I head toward the kitchen with the Coke, a vase of flowers on the counter catches my eye--they need to be watered.
I set the Coke down on the counter, and I discover my reading glasses that I've been searching for all morning. I decide I better put them back on my desk, but first I'm going to water the flowers.
I set the glasses back down on the counter, fill a container with water and suddenly I spot the TV remote Someone left it on the kitchen table. I realize that tonight when I go to watch TV, I will be looking for the remote, but I won't remember that it's on the kitchen table, so I decide to put it back in the den where it belongs, but first I'll water the flowers. I pour some water in the flowers, but quite a bit of it spills on the floor. So, I set the remote back down on the table, get some towels and wipe up the spill. Then, I head down the hall trying to remember what I was planning to do. At the end of the day:
----the car isn't washed,
----the bills aren't paid,
----there is a warm can of Coke sitting on the counter,
----the flowers don't have enough water,
----there is still only 1 check in my check book,
----I can't find the remote,
----I can't find my glasses,
----and I don't remember what I did with the car keys.
Then, when I try to figure out why nothing got done today, I'm really baffled because I know I was busy all day long, and I'm really tired.
I realize this is a serious problem, and I'll try to get some help for it, but first I'll check my e-mail.

The Sunny South has Frozen Over
Being raised in snow country I know this looks like nothing to most but living on this mountain freezing temps can cause major problems. Most jobs are closed because of black ice. The brow roads are all closed going down the mountains. There is only one road that I know of that is open to go down the mountain and then you have to go 50 or 75 miles out of your way to get where your going. I love the mountains but it doesn't mix with snow and ice. The temps will not be above freezing for a least 4 or 5 days so we all might as well settle in. At the moment there is water and electricity but I'm afraid this weekend could change that as the temps are going to drop even lower. Thank goodness this only happens around here every decade or so. If you don't hear from me in a while, please send some salt trucks.

2010....A Cold Start!
Well,I have said my goodbyes to Santa and Acquaintances,The Christmas tree and decorations are all put away and I'm looking at a New Year and New Decade. 2010,sounds kind of robotic doesn't it? Growing up in the 50's,the thought of being here in 2010 just sounded unreal. Yes,I will be hitting the big 6-0 in May,that seems unreal too. Enough about that! The new year has brought with it some very cold weather for this neck of the woods. The low teens and wind chills this morning of 4 below and they predict this for at least another week. Now I'm no wimp and can take the cold,it's just that I live in a very old house(it used to belong to my grandparents)that sits about 12 inches off the ground. So,if my pipes freeze and burst then I have to find a little(and I mean little)guy who is willing to crawl under there to fix it. Not to mention doing without water until the weather warms up enough to thaw it all out. Thats what I get for building on to a house that was originally built low on the ground because it had no plumbing in those days. Which brings us to my new header and background. When I first moved to the south in 1966(from Michigan)believe it or not there were many kitchens that still looked like this and with no plumbing. I even lived in a couple of them but that's a story for another time. All my life I have been fascinated with that era and still am today. Guess I have rambled on long enough with my thoughts bouncing everywhere so have a great year and send me lots of warm wishes so my pipes won't freeze.
