I got this in an e-mail today and thought it was worth posting. Apparently getting your Cat painted has became fashionable among the rich. I say the rich because number 1,I have yet to see this in person (I don't have alot of rich friends) and number 2,the tail/tale(pun intended) is that some of these paint jobs cost around $15,000.00. Altho some of these are cute I believe animals are beautiful as they are but with this price maybe I should think about a career change,eh? Oh,I forgot to add that because of their hair growth this has to be done every 3 months. So,what do you think,is this safe for the cats? Would you do this to your furbabies? I don't think I would even if my last name were Trump.

I have officially seen everything now. No, I don't like this one little bit. How do they get these kitties to sit still for this procedure? I mean, that paint is right around their EYES! I'm sure they're using some kind of non-toxic paint - they wouldn't want to run afoul of PETA, plus they're cat lovers, so they're not going to expose their cats to anything that will make them sick. But still...no, why would anyone WANT a cat to look like a butterfly? Or Skeletor? Or anything other than the beautiful creatures that they are?
ReplyDeleteAnd, I'm sorry, I hate to keep harping on this, but, there is no way in this world any cat I've ever known is gonna sit still for somebody to paint CHARLIE CHAPLIN on his BUTT!
Oh I think this is sad, why can't pet lovers just accept their cats for the way they are....:-) Hugs
ReplyDeleteI'm stunned! This is the most beautiful animal art I've ever seen! Seriously, how awesome! But to answer your question, did I miss if you said what they paint with? I'd say that it must be something relatively harmless, or PETA and other animal rights groups would be all over it.
ReplyDeleteWould I do it, no, because it looks very time intensive and that in itself would consitute as torture and abuse. I'm wondering if they might even have had to be sedated.
Wow! Lmao...some people have too much money on their hands! This is awful!
ReplyDeletei painted a cat once, but I only had part of a can spray paint. It didn't turn out looking like these pic.. lol,,,(just teasing)
ReplyDeletePlease tell me this is computer generation, surely no animal would be still long enough for such exacting paint/dye jobs. Sheesh!
ReplyDeleteI've seen these before. While amazing - I think they are 100%Photo shopped. I have 3 kitties and there isn't one in the bunch who would sit still long enough to do it. If they did sit still, I'm pretty sure they would leave me a present in my shoe for making them look so silly. hahahahaha
ReplyDeleteI've never heard of this. I hope the commentor before me, Lee Ann, is correct, in that it is all totally computer generated and fake. I really don't like the idea of it possibly being done.
ReplyDeleteIf it's real, then I think their owners must be really bored.
Okay. Now I need to do some research. This blows my mind. I cannot imagine any cat sitting for this, though wouldn't doubt that there are owners that would pay for it. The cost of some of these things makes me furious. What I could do with $15,000!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteThe reason it is so expensive is because they have to give the cats a bath first. LOL
ReplyDeleteLet's see, I have ten cats right now so it would only cost me $150,000.
My kitties would NOT sit still for this! Some of the paint jobs are very pretty!
ReplyDeletethis is way worse than putting clothes on your pets. uugggghh..!
ReplyDeleteUgh. I don't like cats in the first place!
ReplyDeleteGetting caught up on my blog reading. Happy Friday!!!!
Well, if that ain't the cat's meow! Heeeheeehe! I thought livin' here on the Ponderosa I'd seen it all when it comes to critters. Hopefully the paint is non toxic and water based so it doesn't harm the kitties. Otherwise...sick 'em Rover!!!
ReplyDeleteGod bless ya'll and have a fantastic weekend!!!
Okay, that is sooooooo weird and I would never spend $15,000 on anything for a cat. On the other hand, you could save yourself the expense of getting a house alarm if you had your black cat painted out like a skunk!
