Longest Yard Sale '09

Several of us went to the longest yard sale this past weekend,we had such a good time exploring. I got quite a few goodies along the way. We had to go at the crack of dawn because it was so hot that day but we love it. We shopped till we dropped(from the heat). Just thought I would share a few pictures my Granddaughter took.

I have always wanted one of these,there just like my grandmother had when I was a child. Not this year,they wanted 400 dollars each.

My Very First Award!

I am so thrilled........Today I got my first ever award! Gertrude Groggins over at Abstract Arboretum gave it to me and I just love it. Please visit her blog,you never know what she is up to next and she is such a sweetheart. I have to go now and climb down from cloud 9. Thanks again Gertrude. She left me no certain rules but I will be passing this along soon.

Happy Birthday Mama!

August 6th would have been my Mama's birthday. Have you ever noticed how many things we forget on a daily basis? Maybe a friends birthday or to give a deserving pat on the back or a dinner date. Yet no matter how long it's been or how hard you try to forget there are just some things that stop you in your tracks. like your Mama's birthday,even tho she has been gone for almost 10 years now. So I'm sending this out as a way to honor her on this day. Love you,miss you,thank you. Happy Birthday Mama.

I'm Just A Junkin Junkie!

One of my most favorite things to do is going to The World's Longest Yard Sale,which runs from Aug.6th thru the 9th. I love getting out early and seeing all the bargains and people and unusual items people sell. I really love the antiques but they are very expensive,sometimes you can run up on a bargain. It's like treasure hunting to me and so relaxing. I like to find things I can restore or do something different with. Even just looking is sometimes like going through a museum of history,which I also love. So,here I have been looking forward to this for months,4 days of something I enjoy,actually, 3 days because I knew I had to work Saturday. Yesterday I'm told I had to work next Sunday too. I wasn't too upset because that still gave me 2 days to go treasure hunting. Well today rolls around and I find out I also have to work Thursday. So I'm down to 1 day. Wish me luck!
